Improvisation on a Simple Melody π΅π¬
My improvisations usually orbit harmony, texture, and rhythm β not melody.
Melody feels too exposed. Maddeningly simple, but also difficult.
This piece was a constraint: start with a simple motif. Don't run too far. Don't decorate too much. Just turn it slowly.
Even the piano needs to sing.
