A drumhead has a fascinating and complex pattern of wiggles, determined by the Laplacian eigenfunctions on a circular domain with a pinned boundary. Drum Modes visualizes those normal modes directly, in two ways: step through them one at a time in Explore mode, or tap the drumhead in Strike mode to excite all of them at once and watch and hear the impulse decompose into a superposition of modes.
